KMU Dormitory

Two types of dormitories for international students, visiting research fellows, and visiting trainees are located on campus.

International Student Dormitory

It is located in the School of Nursing, the building 3 (3F, 4F).

Private Rooms Men's Floor (3F) 12 Rooms
Women's Floor (4F) 12 Rooms Total 24 Rooms
Common Facilities Kitchen, Dining, Shower Rooms, Refrigerators, Laundry & Drying Room, Restrooms
Room Fee

10,000 yen/month

  • Electricity and phone charges will be added in the bill for the monthly room fee.
  • In the month of moving in/out, you will be charged as follows.
    a) 3,000 yen when you stay in the dormitory less than 15 days.
    b) 10,000 yen when you stay in the dormitory for 15 days or more.

Rental Items

"Dormitory Starter Pack"
1,500 yen/month (Linens and cooking equipment)*Tax is not included.

  • All residents in the dormitory must use this pack in the month of moving in.
  • You cannot rent this pack for more than 3 months. You need to buy your own linens and cooking equipment after using this pack.
Parking 5 Parking Spaces: 1,100 yen/month
*If there is no vacancy, you need to find a parking place on your own.

  • Each private room is for one person use only. Your family members are not allowed to stay in this room with you.
  • Smoking is prohibited on KMU campus property, hospital grounds, and all areas around the premises such as roads and parks.
  • Free internet access is available.

Application for the Dormitory

If your admission to our university is accepted and your position is either an international student, visiting research fellow, or a visiting trainee, submit the application to the CIE 60 days prior to the day you wish to move in.

Parking and Bicycle Sheds

Cars, motorcycles, and bicycles must be parked at designated parking spots on campus. To use car parking, you need to apply and obtain permission from the university in advance; get permission from your supervisor and contact the CIE for application process.
When you plan to purchase a car motorcycle or bicycle in Japan, please pay attention to the following.

  • You must obey the Japan Road Traffic Act.
  • Take out insurance (automobile liability insurance and voluntary insurance) in case of an accident. For bicycles, contact the bicycle shop you buy your bike.
  • Pay extra attention to driving and parking on campus to avoid troubles with others.

Moving-out Procedures

When you plan to move out from the dormitory, submit the "Notification of Moving-Out" and "Notification of Guarantor Payment" to the CIE 30 days prior to the day you plan to leave.
