Medical Communications

Outline

Since 2025, the Department of Medical Communication has comprised of two faculty members who are qualified as both Clinical Psychologists and Certified Public Psychologists. The department focuses on the acquisition and enhancement of communication skills, which are essential competencies for medical doctors. In particular, through experiential learning, we aim to cultivate the practical communication skills required for clinical practice. We also offer hands-on education on professional engagement based on behavioral science. In addition, we provide medical students with education and support for managing their own mental and physical self-care and self-regulation. In terms of research, we are conducting studies on behavioral changes in patients with diabetes, as well as on behavioral characteristics and quality of life improvement in individuals with chronic kidney disease, dementia, and sleep disorders.
