Infectious Diseases
Outline
The Department of Infectious Diseases was established in March 2010, by the first chair, Dr. Yoshitsugu Iinuma. Examination and treatment of severe and complicated infectious diseases (ID) cases, education of medical students and residents, and clinical and basic research of ID are our important missions. Additionally, we are supporting infection control and prevention as core members of the Infection Control Team in our hospital, and playing a key role in the regional surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and in the infection control network in the Hokuriku district. We are aiming to provide new evidence of ID and train the next generation of doctors who will form the core team of ID specialists in the Hokuriku district. We hope that anyone who has interest in ID will join our department.
