English

Outline
We aim to provide medical English education that meets international standards. Our program focuses on four key areas—Medical Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, and Communication—along with improving students’ overall English proficiency. Japanese and native English-speaking instructors work together to review and improve the curriculum and teaching quality. We encourage all students to develop an international mindset grounded in respect for different cultures and diversity.
In recent years, medical English has become increasingly important. In response, we offer English courses for first- and second-year students in both the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing. We also contribute to elective courses that focus on reading and writing research papers for third-year Nursing students and Graduate School of Medicine students. All courses help students build essential skills for academic and professional success.
In our research, we study how to motivate students to learn English as well as how to improve teaching methods and materials for English required in the medical and nursing fields. We have also been exploring ways to use smartphones, tablets, AI platforms, and other digital tools to support active, student-centered learning.
Additionally, through the International Exchange Center, we run the "Evening English" conversation class for students and staff, offer English proofreading support, and help with overseas training programs. We also contribute to the local community by supporting English education at the Ishikawa Prefectural Police Academy.
