Neuropsychiatry

Outline

The Department of Neuropsychiatry at 色多多视频 was established in June 1972 under the leadership of its first chair, Professor YAMAGUCHI Nariyoshi. Initially based at Asanogawa Hospital, the department began providing clinical services in September 1974, coinciding with the opening of 色多多视频 Hospital.
In the early days, there were no dedicated (locked) psychiatric wards, and patients were admitted to internal medicine units. This changed in April 1976 with the opening of specialized psychiatric wards, including a secure (closed) ward. In April 2009, the department moved to its current location—a 36-bed unit on the third floor of the hospital’s annex building.
Today, psychiatrists play a vital role as specialists in brain and mind health. Their responsibilities continue to grow, requiring a scientific, evidence-based approach grounded in both neuroscience and human science. The department addresses a wide range of mental health needs, including psychiatric complications of physical illness, emergency psychiatric care, and forensic psychiatry.
We are dedicated to training psychiatrists with strong clinical skills, a commitment to research, and leadership potential. Our mission is to contribute to the advancement of mental health care and medical science through excellence in education, research, and patient care.
