Pathology II

Outline

Our main research projects are the investigation of molecular mechanism of invasion and metastasis of both lung cancer and bone/soft tissue sarcomas and the cytogenetic approach to tumors with FISH. We have also been doing research on several neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases, including tissue engineering of auricular cartilage with tissue mesenchymal stem cells, steroid induced osteonecrosis and with doctoral and post-doctoral fellows from some clinical departments. We hope to integrate classic morphological pathology with novel molecular pathology by means of sophisticated experimental technologies, utilizing not only surgical materials but also cultured cells and experimental animal models with gene-modification.
