Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing

Outline
"Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing is a field of nursing concerned with helping people maintain and improve their mental health. It also involves supporting individuals with mental illness to live true to themselves. As mental health nursing professionals, we provide support for mental health issues in collaboration with multiple health care providers, service users, and families. Our aim is to improve the mental health of everyone in the community.
Through our clinical and community mental health activities, we also explore the nurse’s role and approach as a mental health supporter.
The department’s research activities are aligned with solving various mental health issues across a number of fields. Our research focuses on the following topics: nursing interventions to minimize physical restraints and seclusion in psychiatric wards, continuous employment support for workers with mental health problems, and recuperation support to promote changes in medical treatment behavior of patients with chronic illness."
