Gastroenterological Endoscopy
Outline
"In the Department of Gastroenterological Endoscopy, we focus on treatment and research of diseases that require gastrointestinal endoscopy, specializing in endoscopic diagnosis of cancer. For early stage esophageal cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, we perform endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). For submucosal invasive gastric cancer that cannot be treated with ESD, we collaborate with the Department of Digestive Surgery to perform sentinel lymph node biopsy and full-thickness local excision. Also, we respond to requests for esophagogastroduodenoscopy from other clinical departments as promptly as possible. As there are many requests to perform endoscopic gastrostomy, we continue to focus on developing safer and more effective ways to perform gastrostomy without complications.
The main themes of our research include: (1) endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of early stage esophageal, gastric and colorectal cancer; (2) full-thickness local excision of submucosal invasive gastric cancer; (3) early stage cancer diagnosis using magnifying endoscopy; (4) safe gastrostomy; (5) development of endoscopic techniques."
