Pediatric Nursing

Outline

"In pediatric nursing, our objectives are to create a suitable environment for children to grow healthy and help them improve their quality of life while ensuring that we respect children's rights. Pediatric nursing covers broad developmental stages from the neonatal period to adolescence and provides appropriate assistance for each child by understanding their physical, psychological, and social situations. A child's family is also an integral part of pediatric nursing care and support.
In education, we aim to help nursing students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for pediatric nursing. We teach the characteristics and environments of each developmental stage, how to understand and care for children with diseases and disabilities, and the skills necessary for pediatric nursing. In addition, students engage in nursing practice through on-site training at the hospital.
In research, we aim to develop and improve support for children with chronic diseases and disabilities in association with their families and community childcare support. We also investigate how to improve educational methods and evaluation systems to enhance practical skills in pediatric nursing."
